Ends Successful SECOND Season

Celebrate NWIBL Style! Northwest Independent Baseball League (NWIBL) will end their season on Sunday, Aug. 29th at Sckavone Field in SE Portland. Free and open to the public, activities will include the final playoff game which will determine the 1st and 2nd place winners, an all star game, a home run derby, and a gift to two charities. The 1st game will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the rest of the activities.

All players who hit Home Runs are asked to join us when we make the donations.....

NWIBL Gives Back! This season NWIBL promoted two all-league fundraising programs. NWIBL has designated $10.00 per home run (there has been 35 so far) raising $350.00 for the Oregon chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). At 12:45 a check will be presented to Liliana Morrisey and her parents, Michelle Freedman and Tod Morrisey, for Team Hi Lili Hi Lo who will walk in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes on Oct. 3rd at Oaks Park. Another check will be presented to the team captain of Saggy Bosom Gals and Pals, Pamela Freedman and her mom, Gail Wangenheim, a 10 year breast cancer survivor. The team will walk in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Sept. 19th. This amount is based on grand slam home runs of which there have been 2 so far. Each grand slam brings in $50.00.
